Monoshark built the Sharkout app as a free app. This SERVICE is provided by Monoshark at no cost and is intended for use as is.

This page informs visitors of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information for anyone who uses our Service.

Information Collection and Use

Sharkout does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. All data you enter in the app - workouts, exercises, sets, profile settings - is stored solely in a local database on your device. The app has no server of its own and never sends your data anywhere by itself: it leaves your device only when you move it yourself, or through the backups your device makes under your own agreement with Apple - both described below.

The app requires no account, no registration, and no internet connection. It contains no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.

Exports, Transfers, and Sharing

Where the app offers a way to export or back up your data, the export is initiated by you, and the resulting file is saved to the location you choose. You can also send that file to your other device yourself - for example by AirDrop or through Files - and open it there to merge the data. That is a direct transfer between your own devices: no account, no server, and no involvement by Monoshark.

You can likewise share a single workout plan as a file with another person. A plan file contains what you put into the plan - its name and notes, the exercises with their own notes, and the target sets - and no workout history and no information about you. Once you share a file, whether a plan or a full backup, its contents are in the hands of whoever receives it. You are responsible for storing and protecting exported files and for choosing who you send them to; Monoshark has no access to them.

Device Backups

Like most apps, Sharkout's data is included in the backups your device makes of itself - iCloud or Finder backups on iPhone and iPad, Time Machine or your own file backups on Mac - so that restoring a device brings your workouts back. Those backups are made and held by Apple or by you, under your own agreement with Apple; Sharkout itself still transmits nothing, and Monoshark has no access to them. You control them in your device's own settings.

Diagnostic Reports

The app can create a diagnostic report - technical logs, crash diagnostics, and technical details such as the app version, your device model, your language, and how many records are stored (counts only) - to help investigate a problem. Reports never include your workouts, exercise names, or notes, and nothing is sent automatically: the app shows you exactly what a report contains, and it leaves your device only if you share it yourself (for example by emailing it to support). A report you choose to send us is used solely to investigate your issue.

Data Deletion

Deleting a workout erases its content immediately - the details are removed from the database at that moment, not merely hidden, and no later export contains them. All that remains is an anonymous marker (a random identifier and a date) whose only purpose is to stop that workout reappearing when you transfer data from another device; you can remove those markers yourself in Profile, under Backup & transfer.

Because all data lives on your device, deleting the app deletes all of its data. Copies you made yourself - exported files, and any device backup you or Apple hold - are not affected and stay under your control. Monoshark retains nothing, apart from a diagnostic report you chose to send us.

Third-Party Services

Sharkout does not use any third-party services that collect data. If you have turned on sharing analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may pass us standard crash reports about the app, under the terms you agreed to with Apple - Sharkout itself neither creates nor sends them. You can turn that off at any time in your device settings; see Apple's privacy policy for details.

Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and Similar Laws)

Because the data you enter is retained only by your device, Monoshark holds no personal data about you, with one exception: if you write to us, we hold that correspondence and anything you attached to it, such as a diagnostic report. For everything else there is nothing for us to access, correct, delete, or port in response to a data-subject request under the GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws - you exercise those rights directly, by managing or deleting the data on your device. For anything you have sent us, write to the address below and we will act on your request. We have never sold or shared personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Children's Privacy

Sharkout does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
